Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, FCA, FCIB, FCIT, FNIM, OON (Talban Gombe) was born on 4th April 1962 at Herwagana Ward in Gombe City, Gombe State.
He attended Central Primary School Gombe and Government Secondary School Billiri in Gombe State. He proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and Graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting second class (honours) upper Division, being the second best result obtained by any individual in the then Bauchi State.
He further enrolled for Masters of Science Degree, in Economics from University of Lagos. Dankwambo was not satisfied with academic pursuit, he decided to study Post graduate Diploma in Computer Science at the Delta State University Abraka, Delta State. He finally cap it up with a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Phd) from Igbenideon University, Okada. In 2012 he was conferred with the Honorary Doctorate Degree by the Imo State University.
Professional Qualifications
Professionally, Dankwambo has proved to be exceptionally intelligent. He has passed through the qualifying examinations of seven (7) professional bodies and consequently was awarded membership of those professional Institutions. For example, He passed the prescribed examinations of the prestigious Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in exceptionally earlier than record time, a year after his graduation from the University, a feat most professional Chartered Accountants will agree is rare to achieve and therefore became an associate of the Institute. Today he is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management, a Fellow of Nigerian Institute of Marketers and a Fellow of the Nigerian Economic Society.

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has advised outgoing governors to abstain from interfering in the governance of their states as they prepare to leave office later this month. This is as a former Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo, told outgoing governors to “be prepared for the visits of such institutions like the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission and the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit who may ask some questions that need answers.” Saraki, Dankwambo and others spoke on Sunday night at the farewell dinner for outgoing governors held at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. They spoke to the outgoing governors on how to prepare for life after office. Saraki, a former governor of Kwara State, urged the 18 outgoing governors to make the necessary adjustments to play their roles in national development. While commending the outgoing governor for the services rendered to their respective states, Saraki said, “When you are no longer governor, allow your successor to do their work. Go back to your families. I am sure your wives, children and grandchildren are counting the days. You are bracing for a new phase of life, which is completely different. Spend more time with your families. Save your money for hampers and rams because they won’t come as usual.” The former Senate President also enjoined the newly-elected governors to start planning their exit from day one, even as he harped on the significance of self-challenge for development. “To our incoming governors, start planning and preparing for governance. Plan your exit from day one and keep challenging yourselves,” Saraki said. Gov Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo FCA,FCIB,FCIT,FNIM,OON(Taliban Gombe) is the present governor of Gombe, was born on 4th April 1962 at Herwagana ward in Gombe city,Gombe state.
He is a second class upper division graduate of accounting from Ahmadu Bello university, Zaria where he studied from 1981-1985.He also obtain master of science degree in economics from the university of Lagos and a postgraduate diploma in computer science from Delta state university Abraka.Today he is a fellow and associate of 6 professional bodies and associations in the financial field in Nigeria. He is happily married to hajiya Adams Ibrahim Dankwambo.
Apart from his brilliant academic exploits,Gov Dankwambo’s carrier began from Cooper and lybrand international (Chartered accountant) between 1985-1988 and he joined Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in 1988-1999, Gombe accountant general. His excellent performance, perseverance, dedication, commitment and his unrelenting hard work gave him the appointment of the Accountant general of the federation before he answered the call of his people and contested for gubernatorial seat and won with huge margin in 2011 election.
