    Nadia Ahmed is a well-known and adored personality in the world of acting, dancing and modeling. Recently, she has stepped into anchoring as well. She is currently busy with a variety of Eid TV shows and several serials which will be aired on different television channels. In a candid interview, Nadia spoke to The Daily Star about what she has been up to.

    Tell us about the Eid TV shows that you have wrapped up.

    Nadia:  I have wrapped up tele-fictions titled Shantona De, Ringmasterer Ghora, Home Minister and Back to Bachelor. Other than that, I have done an Eid special TV serial called High Pressure 2. I have also worked with directors Sajal Arefin and Tushaar Khan. I can't reveal the names of their shows just yet.

    What types of roles are you playing in these Eid special TV shows?

    Nadia: I am playing a poor ringmaster's wife in Ringmasterer Ghora. In Shantona De, I am portraying a dimwitted girl. Meanwhile, in High Pressure 2, I am playing a sister who is always worried about her brother's high blood pressure. So, the audience will see me playing a wide range of characters.

    You have done anchoring for the first time recently. How was the experience?

    Nadia: Anchoring for the first time was a really good experience. I have always described myself as an actor, so to get an offer for anchoring was surprising, but I wanted to give it a shot. The show I anchored will be aired on Maasranga TV.

    How do you balance your media career and your family life so seamlessly?

    Nadia: I am married to an artiste, so we have a great understanding. We hope to build a happy life together.

    You have recently won an award abroad. How does it feel?

    Nadia: A Tollywood awards show is organised in the USA every year, and I won the award for best dancer in it this time. I have been dancing since as long as I can remember, and I have continued to pursue it over the years. So, it is a great honour to get recognised for my c

    Marzuk Russell (born 15 August 1973) is a Bangladeshi poet, lyricist, model, and actor. He made his television debut in the TV play Ayna Mohol directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki. He got mainstream acclaim after the self-titled role in the film Bachelor in 2004. Since then he acted in many television dramas and worked for numerous television commercials. Marzuk also appeared on several music videos, such as Ghuri Tumi Kar Akashe Oro (2012),Smrity Katha (2017) etc.

    Early life

    Marzuk Russell was born on August 15, 1973, in his mother's village at Gopalganj District, Bangladesh. He grew up in Daulatpur, Khulna. His father worked at a jute mill in Khulna. He attended Govt. Krishnamohan Primary School; after elementary school, his father decided to enroll him in a madrasa.

    In 1993, he moved to Dhaka.

    Acting

    In the early 2000s, Marzuk started acting through video-fiction Aynamohol directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki. He continues to collaborate with Farooki till date.

    Literature

    Marzuk started writing poems while studying in the eighth class of Madrasa. His first poem was published in "Janabarta,” a local magazine from Khulna. He then gradually started freelance-writing in different newspapers and magazines. His first published poetry was Shanting Chara Songjog Nishidhwa. He then wrote three poetry respectively, Chander Budir Boyosh Jokhon Sholo (2003), Bainji Bari Road, and Chotto Kothay Tennis Ball. "Alternative" is one of the most popular poetry of his creation.

    Humayun Ahmed (Bengali: হুমায়ূন আহমেদ[ɦumajuːn aɦmed]; 13 November 1948 – 19 July 2012) was a Bangladeshi novelist, dramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, songwriter, scholar, and academic. His breakthrough was his debut novel Nondito Noroke published in 1972. He wrote over 200 fiction and non-fiction books. He was one of the most popular authors and filmmakers in post-independence Bangladesh. Pakistani English newspaper Dawn referred to him as the cultural legend of Bangladesh.

    In the early 1990s, Humayun Ahmed emerged as a filmmaker. He went on to make a total of eight films – each based on his novels. Some of his notable films are: Daruchini Dip, Aguner Poroshmoni, Srabon Megher Din, Shonkhonil Karagar, Dui Duari, Shyamol Chhaya and Ghetuputra Komola. He was one of the most influential dramatist in Bangladesh during the 1990s, when he wrote the most popular soap operas. His works, such as Kothao Keu Nei, Aaj Robibar, and Bohubrihi, are still considered masterpieces by fans and critics. Many Bangladeshi filmmakers are still inspired by his works.&
