  • Daphne Oz is an Emmy Award-winning television host, New York Times bestselling author, natural foods chef, wife, and mother of 4.

    Vikas Khanna (born 14 November 1971) is a chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, filmmaker, and philanthropist from India. He is one of the MasterChef India judges. He lives in New York City.

    Early life and education

    Khanna was born into a Punjabi household in Amritsar, India. He attended St. Francis School in Amritsar for his education. He was born with a deformed leg (club foot) and couldn't run till he was 13 years old. In 1991, he graduated from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, where he studied hotel management. He subsequently went on to study at the Culinary Institute of America and New York University. Vikas Khanna was also honoured with an honorary doctorate from GD Goenka University.

    Career

    Khanna worked with Taj Hotels, Oberoi Group, Welcome Group, and Leela Group of Hotels while in India.

    Khanna had worked at Salaam Bombay and The Café at the Rubin Museum of Art in New York before joining Junoon, an upmarket Indian restaurant in Manhattan's Flatiron area. Junoon earned a positive review in The New York Times from Sam Sifton in its first year and has been given a Michelin star by the Michelin Guide for six straight years from 2011.

    He has also collaborated with celebrity chefs such as Gordon Ramsay, Eric Ripert, Bobby Flay, and Jean-Georges Vongerichten. In 2019, he founded Kinara, a restaurant in Dubai. In 2020, he will establish Ellora, a restaurant in Dubai.

    Television shows

    Khanna hosted seven seasons of MasterChef India (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8), a series based on the original British version, beginning in 2011. Since then, he has hosted every season of the show. Khanna was a guest judge on MasterChef Australia during Season 6.

    Twist of Taste, a Fox Life show, he hosted for four seasons. On Gordon Ramsay's TV show Kitchen Nightmares, Khanna appeared as a consultant chef to rescue a failing Indian restaurant named Purnima. On Hell's Kitchen's two-part season finale, Khanna
