Karina Duprez (born Karina Julia Descalzó Guzmán on December 23, 1946, in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican director and former actress.
Early life
Duprez was born on December 23, 1946, in Mexico City, Mexico. She is a daughter of actress Magda Guzmán and Julián Duprez. She has two siblings, Gerardo and Mirtha Duprez, and one half-brother, Carlos Falcón, from her mother's second marriage.
She is the mother of actress Magda Karina. In 1979, she married actor Carlos Ancira. Their marriage lasted until his death in 1987.
At the age of 5, she participated in the theatrical production of Juegos prohibidos. She later studied acting at the Andres Soller Academy, then at the National Institute of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She then went to London to study theater directing. She made his television and film debut in the mid-1960s.

Magda Guzmán Dies: Mexican Actress Dead At 83 Following Heart Attack
Magda Guzmán has died at the age of 83. The Mexican actress who was born María Magdalena Guzmán Garza had a heart attack according to Televisa's "Primero Noticias." Magda Karina, granddaughter of Guzmán, made it official on Twitter writing: "See you soon my favorite warrior, my grandmother Magda Guzmán has just left on a trip to see Father God. Fly high my love, I love you. My adored grandmother Magda Guzmán is arriving in heaven to act in her most important role with God." Magda Karina, also posted a photo on Twitter of herself with the late actress and wrote the following message: "We are very sad. May she rest in peace our adored Magda Guzmán."
Magda Guzmán was born in Saltillo, Coahuila on May 16, 1931. She starred in film, theatre and television. Magda worked with great legends like Silvia Derbez, Rafael Banquells, Fanny Schiller, Alicia Montoya, Sara Garcia, Pedro Infante and many more. More recently she had been in telenovelas, with her last one being "Amor Bravío" opposite Silvia Navarro and Cristián de la Fuente. Other works on the small screen included "Para Volver a Amar," "En Nombre Del Amor," "Tormenta En El Paraíso," "Alborada," "Mi Destino Eres Tú," "La Usurpadora" and "Te Sigo Amando." Guzmán was in many classic telenovelas like "Rosa Salvaje," "Valeria y Maximiliano," "Tú o Nadie," "Rina," "Muchacha Italiana Viene A Casarse," "Bodas de Odio" and "Yesenia." Magda Guzmán is also survived by her daughter and telenovela director, Karina Duprez.

Karina was born on July 27, 1966, in Mexico City, Mexico. She is the daughter of actress and director Karina Duprez and granddaughter of also actress Magda Guzmán and theater director Julián Duprez. By the marriage of his mother with actor Carlos Ancira, he became his adopted daughter.
She began her acting career while still a child, debuting in theater at sixteen years old in theatrical performance El soldadito de plomo. On television she debuted in telenovela Déjame vivir on 1982.
In recent years, Magda Karina has used a new artistic name in some television works as Karina Ancira, adopting her stepfather's last name, Carlos Ancira.
