INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST SADIK AHMETOVIĆ (1969) FORMER MINISTER OF SECURITY OF BIH FOR ABUSE OF OFFICE
A prosecutor of the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption has filed an indictment against:
- Sadik Ahmetović, born in 1969 in Srebrenica, a citizen of BiH.
The accused is charged that he, acting as an authorised official in the institutions of BiH, during his time as Minister of Security of BiH, i.e. in the course of 2011 and 2012, in order to acquire unlawful material gain for Adnan Bektić (1983), signed temporary service contracts with the aforementioned person in order to create an illusion that the latter performed tasks and duties related to the preparation of documentation, data collection, preparation of strategic plans and information on the security situation in certain areas, as well as other tasks within the scope of the BiH Ministry of Security.
However, Adnan Bektić never performed the above-mentioned duties and tasks described in the contracts.
In the manner described above, the accused Sadik Ahmetović allowed the said person to receive remuneration under the Temporary Service Contract, even though he knew that the said individual never performed the described duties and tasks.
He thus allowed Adnan Bektić to acquire unlawful material gain under the Temporary Service Contract and receive payments of per diems totalling BAM 15,680, the amount by which the budget of Bosnia and Herzegovina was damaged.
The accused is charged that by exploiting his official position of the Minister of Security, he acquired unlawful material gain for Adnan Bektić in the amount exceeding KM 10,000 and thus committed the criminal offence of Abuse of Office or Official Authority under Article 220 of the BiH Criminal Code.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
