    Plot[]

    John Ottway works in&#;Alaska&#;as a marksman for an undisclosed oil company, killing wolves that threaten the drillers. On his last day on the job, he shoots one. That evening, Ottway writes a letter "without purpose" to his wife, Ana, explaining his plans to commit suicide. He hears a distant wolf howl and doesn't follow through.

    The next day, Ottway and other oil drillers board a plane. During the flight, Chavis, Grace, Chase, Lucian, Singe, Kahn, Jackson, Ottway, Daniels, Lewenden, Oxendine, Flannery, Burke, Calfskin & Cimoski are sitting on Thier seats on the left side, & Kraven, Corvin, Hendrick, Underwood, Hernandez, Diaz, & Talget are sitting in thier seats on the right side chatting together. Ottway dreams of sleeping with his wife in bed but is awakened by a loud bang. He buckles up in fear of a possible plane crash. Shortly afterwards, the back of the plane is torn off and it crashes. the first oil worker, Chavis, who is Pinned under his seat. Ottway doesnt help him properly and he dies slowly before Eight people including Ottway survive the crash. However, the last oil worker, Lewenden, dies of his injuries as Ottway sadly watches. Taking charge, Ottway sets the survivors on the task of building a fire. While doing this, he discovers a corpse, and is attacked by the&#;grey wolffeeding on it.     Plot

    Nick Hume, a businessman living in Columbia, South Carolina, watches his son Brendan's hockey game. On the way home, they stop for gas in a bad part of town. During an apparent robbery of the gas station, Joe Darley, a new gang member, slices Brendan's throat with a machete. Nick ambushes the thugs, pulls off Joe's mask and sees his face. Joe escapes, only to get hit by a car. Nick rushes Brendan to the hospital, where he dies. Lucas, Nick's younger and less charismatic son, suffers survivor guilt.

    Nick identifies Joe in a police line-up but learns that Joe will only get a light sentence as there is not enough evidence for a trial. At a pre-trial hearing, Nick recants his identification and Joe goes free. Nick trails the gang to their hideout, catches Joe alone, and stabs him to death. The gang leader, Billy, wants revenge. Nick is quickly identified as the killer.

    The gang ambushes Nick on the streets, leading to a tense chase inside a car park. Nick manages to evade the gang and escapes in his car, in the process causing the death of another gang member. The story follows a number of oil-men stranded in Alaska after a plane crash who must survive a pack of Canadian grey wolves, stalking them during the mercilessly cold weather.

    Released in the United States on January 27, , the film received positive reviews, with praise for its philosophical themes, and for Liam Neeson's performance. It grossed $81 million worldwide.

    Plot

    John Ottway works as a sharpshooter at a remote Alaska oil facility, protecting the staff from frequent grey wolf attacks. His wife has died from a terminal illness, leaving him apathetic towards life. On Ottway's last day of work, he considers suicide.

    The next day, Ottway embarks on a return flight to Anchorage with his fellow workers. A malfunction causes the plane to crash in an icy wilderness. Ottway survives, and along with John Diaz, Jerome Talget, Pete Henrick, Todd Flannery, Jackson Burke, and Dwayne Hernandez, takes shelter in the plane wreckage. Hernandez is killed in the night. After finding his body in the morning, Ottway states that they may be within the territory of a wolf pack. He believes the wolves feel threatened by the survivors' presence and thinks they may have a better chance of surviving in the nearby forest. Not expecting a rescue, the group decides to leave.

    The survivors journey south with Ottway leading the way. Flannery falls behind the group and is killed by the wolves. At nightfall, the group is attacked again, and they light several campfires to ward off the predators. Diaz, overwhelmed with stress, threatens Ottway with a knife.
